On Sunday, June 2, New Bedford’s Tifereth Israel Congregation will host its 2019 Ziskind Memorial Lecture. Headlining that event will be Francine Klagsbrun, author of “Lioness: Golda Meir and the Nation of Israel,” who will speak about Meir’s political and personal life.

PatMa Productions, which was started to “create more diverse, gender-balanced content, is currently developing “Lioness” as a limited series. Speaking of the book, Tom Brokaw described “Lioness” as “a majestic and very important account of the extraordinary life of Golda Meir.”

Klagsbrun has written more than a dozen books, and is a regular columnist for The Jewish Week, a contributing editor to Lilith Magazine, and a member of the editorial board of Hadassah magazine.
