Jewish Young Professionals look to connect

Posted

The Jewish Young Professionals (JYPs) of Rhode Island is a group of unaffiliated young Jewish people who get together periodically for Jewish connection and camaraderie. We are an informal group that is not connected with a synagogue or organization.

Many of us do not have a place to go for Friday night Shabbat dinners, as many of us live away from family or simply cannot host others. Since Project Shoresh left Rhode Island, we struggle to find families who are willing to host us. If you are interested in being a host, even if it’s occasionally or just one time, we could always use more options for Shabbat dinners. Funds are available to the host from OneTable. Hosts can receive $10 per guest to help offset the costs of hosting a dinner, and you can set your a maximum number of guests based on capacity. For more information or to volunteer to host, please contact mariafrdmn@gmail.com

Interested Jewish Young Professionals can join an active WhatsApp group chat where we plan get-togethers and activities. If you would like to be added to the chat and are under 40 years old, please email mariafrdmn@gmail.com for more information.
