Thank you [to Rabbi Rosenberg] for remembering the Ocean Hill-Brownsville conflict of 1968. I went out on strike with Al Shanker on my very first day of teaching in Queens in September 1968. It’s also good to recall that the Rev. Al Sharpton was a very divisive figure in that strike and conflict and poisoned Jewish-Negro relations for many years to come.
